Editorial policy
Payment never changes what Infrabase says about a product. It can buy a labelled spot at the top of some pages. It cannot buy a listing, a better write-up, a mention in a comparison or a place in a price table.
This page says exactly where that line runs. You can check every point yourself.
What a featured listing buys
Companies can pay for a featured listing. It moves their product to the top of these pages, always with a Featured label:
- its category page
- the comparison table for that category
- the European providers page, for companies based in Europe
- the gateway comparison and the AI landscape page
- a labelled Featured panel on the alternatives pages in its category
It also comes with a longer write-up of the product, which I research and write. The vendor can correct facts. They don't write the copy.
What nobody can buy
- A listing. Every product clears the same bar, paid or not. Being featured requires being listed first.
- The write-up. Descriptions, overviews and FAQs are checked against the vendor's own pages and written in the same style for everyone.
- Editorial mentions. Blog posts, comparison posts and the Builder Radar are never sold. A featured product gets no special treatment in them.
- Price tables. They are sorted by price, nothing else.
- The data. Search and price results from the API, the MCP server and the open data never sort by featured status or show it. An assistant asking Infrabase which provider is cheapest gets the same answer whoever pays.
- The alternatives ranking. Below the Featured panel, alternatives are ordered by how well they do the same job.
A featured product's own alternatives page shows no other company's featured listing. Nobody can pay to appear on a competitor's paid page.
Affiliate links
Some outbound links earn a commission if you sign up through them. They carry
rel="sponsored". Having one does not get a product listed,
does not change how it is written up and does not move it up a page.
How listings are checked
I read every product before it appears. Pricing, HQ country, licence, compliance claims and what the product actually does are checked against the vendor's own site, in a browser, with the date I read it. Anything I can't confirm is left out rather than guessed. Model prices carry the URL they were read from and the date.
Some products don't get listed even when they would pay. A service that takes customers' money or credentials needs a named company behind it. A reseller whose prices are far below what the model's maker charges, with no explanation of where the capacity comes from, doesn't get listed either.
Corrections
Every product page has an edit link. If something here is wrong, including about a product that pays, tell me and I'll fix it and say so.
