Microsoft Agent Framework
Build agents and graph-based multi-agent workflows in .NET and Python
Microsoft Agent Framework is an open-source framework for building AI agents and multi-agent workflows in .NET and Python. Agents call tools and MCP servers across providers (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic, Ollama, and more); workflows connect agents and functions with type-safe routing, checkpointing, and human-in-the-loop steps.
It is the successor to AutoGen and Semantic Kernel, combining AutoGen agent abstractions with Semantic Kernel enterprise features (session state, middleware, telemetry) and adding graph-based orchestration. Migration guides from both are provided.
