Browserbase
Cloud browser infrastructure for AI agents with stealth mode, proxies, and session management
Browserbase provides cloud-hosted headless browser instances built for AI agents. It handles browser session management, anti-detection, CAPTCHA solving, and residential proxies so agent developers do not have to run their own browser fleet. Sessions are controllable via Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium, and include live view debugging and session recordings. Browserbase supports MCP integration for LLM-driven browser control and scales to thousands of concurrent sessions.
Pricing: Usage-based
What is Browserbase?
Browserbase is cloud browser infrastructure for AI agents and automation. It runs headless Chrome sessions in the cloud so developers do not have to provision, scale, or anti-detect their own browser fleet. Agents drive those sessions with Playwright, Puppeteer, or Selenium, or with Stagehand, Browserbase's open-source AI browser automation framework. As of March 2026 the company reports 36.9 million unique browser sessions, and names Microsoft, Amplitude, Ramp, Clay, and Lovable among its users.
How it works
Each session is a real cloud browser you connect to over the standard automation protocols, plus an MCP server for LLM-driven control. Built-in features cover the parts agents usually struggle with: stealth and anti-bot fingerprinting, residential proxies, automatic CAPTCHA solving, file downloads, and authenticated sessions. For debugging, every session has a live view and a recording you can replay alongside logs. Beyond raw browsers, Browserbase exposes a Search API (web search for agents) and a Fetch API that returns a URL as HTML, JSON, or markdown.
Pricing
Pricing is usage-based with a free tier. The free plan includes 3 concurrent browsers, 1 browser hour, 15-minute maximum sessions, and 7-day data retention. The Developer plan ($20/mo) raises that to 25 concurrent browsers, 100 browser hours (then $0.12/hr), 1GB of proxy bandwidth, and automatic CAPTCHA solving. The Startup plan ($99/mo) covers 100 concurrent browsers, 500 hours (then $0.10/hr), 5GB of proxies, and 30-day retention. A custom Scale plan adds 250+ concurrent browsers with HIPAA (BAA), a DPA, and SSO. Verify current limits on the pricing page before committing to volume.
Who it's for
Browserbase fits teams building agents that need to act on the web: automated testing, workflow automation, data extraction, form filling, and login-gated tasks. The trade-off versus running browsers yourself is cost at high volume against not having to maintain proxy pools, anti-detection, and concurrency. For comparison, E2B and Stagehand sit nearby in the agent-browser-automation space, and self-hosting Playwright or Puppeteer on your own infrastructure is the do-it-yourself alternative.
