LMNT has shut down. As of September 2026 its site and docs show only a notice that the service has ended. LMNT sold a low-latency text-to-speech API for conversational AI; the replacements below are grouped by what an LMNT integration was usually doing.

Streaming TTS for voice agents

• Cartesia: Sonic text-to-speech built on state space models, with 44 languages on Sonic 3.6 (September 2026). Cartesia also sells Ink streaming speech-to-text and a managed agents platform.
• SpeechifyAI: API for Speechify's Simba models with zero-shot voice cloning. Speechify publishes a p50 first-byte latency of 56 ms on its own production path (September 2026).
• KugelAudio: EU-hosted TTS in 26 languages, with voice cloning, streaming and word-level timestamps included on every model. Billing is per generated audio minute.
• Respeecher: Respeecher Space is a real-time TTS API for voice agents at $2 per hour of audio, pay-as-you-go with no subscription.

Keeping speech inside your own environment

• Rime AI: TTS for conversational agents with 600+ voices, deployable as a cloud API, inside a VPC or fully on-premise.
• VoxCPM: Apache 2.0 TTS model with voice cloning in 30 languages. It runs on a single GPU with roughly 8GB of VRAM.

One API for the whole voice stack

• ElevenLabs: TTS, Scribe speech-to-text, voice cloning and conversational agents from one account. A fit when an LMNT migration is also a chance to consolidate vendors.
